This wonderful expedition to the Raleigh Falls is full of adventure and nature where climbing to the top of the Voltzberg is the main focus. The Raleigh Falls is part of the Central Suriname Nature Reserve and is known for its extraordinary flora and fauna. It is also a paradise for animal lovers and bird watchers.
Accommodation
Accommodation on Raleigh Falls is a bit more back to basics. Below is an overview from the different accommodations the Fungu Island on Raleighvallen has to offer.
Hammocks
By default, we sleep in hammocks on this tour.
Sleeping in hammocks is good to do, especially if your hammock hangs well.
The view from the hammock accommodation is fantastic!
The building you sleep in was built entirely of wood by Conservation International.
Bunk bed camp Tamanua (20 sleeping places)
You can also choose to sleep at the bunk bed camp Tamanua, to still sleep in a regular bed (albeit a bunk bed).
You will be close to the toilets and showers and are also provided with a mosquito net.
For an additional cost of 50 euros on the standard 4-day tour price.
Travel time: 7 – 9 hours
Departure time: 7:45 a.m.
Back in Paramaribo on last day: 7 p.m.
Note: The following applies to road transfers in the rainy season: The poor condition of the dirt road results in a longer travel time, this may result in the trip being perceived as tiring. Guests with back problems and/or physical limitations should take this into account.

Storm/bad weather:
The tour company has the right at any time before the departure time, to cancel the trip/ tour in case of unforeseeable weather conditions. The activity/ tour will be rescheduled on another date.
If cancelled between the 14th and the 7th day before departure, a 50% refund will be honored.
If cancelled 6 days or less before departure, unfortunately no refund will be honored.
