What does the Back-to-Basic Experience entail?
On this six-day tour, you will trek deep into the untouched jungle for three days, hike to a creek and spend the night in a hammock with mosquito net. You can fish, learn about medicinal plants and bathe in the sula.
How do I travel to the resort?
From Paramaribo by bus to Atjoni (approx. 2.5 hours) and then by canoe in about 3.5 hours over the Upper Suriname River. Travelling by plane is possible on request.
What is included and what is not?
Included: guide, all program activities, three meals a day with drinks/snacks/fruit, and transportation to and from Pingpe. Not included: alcoholic beverages and transport to/from Zorg&Hoop airport.
How long does the tour last and what does it cost?
The tour lasts 6 days and costs € 430 per person, travelling by bus-korjaal-bus. Travel by plane is possible on request.
How demanding is the walk to the jungle camp?
You walk to the creek in approximately four hours, depending on the pace of the group. The tour is physically active; reasonable fitness is recommended.
Where do I sleep at the jungle camp?
In a hammock with a mosquito net, in a simple camp beside the creek.
What is a sula?
A sula is a stretch of rapids in the river. You can bathe in one at the jungle camp.
What is an Anjoemara?
The anjoemara (Hoplias aimara) is a large predatory fish found in the rivers of the Guianas and the Amazon basin. If you catch one it can be prepared for dinner. (Source: Wikipedia)
What time am I picked up?
You are picked up between 8.00 and 8.30 am in the centre of Paramaribo.
What is a korjaal?

Book Tours
To ensure proper planning and availability, we ask you to book tours at least 2 days in advance. This way we can ensure that everything is perfectly arranged for you.
Airport transfers
Airport transfers can also be booked at short notice, depending on the availability of our drivers.
For last-minute bookings requested less than 24 hours before the transfer, there is a surcharge of €15 per booking. This surcharge is necessary because we have to schedule a driver and vehicle at short notice.
We advise you to book your transfer as early as possible. This way you are assured of availability and you avoid extra costs.
