South Coast & History Tour Bonaire

The south side of Bonaire is rich in history and special nature. On this tour, you will discover this unique part of the island, where culture and ecological highlights alternate.

We drive along the vast salt pans, where the white, pink and turquoise tones form an impressive color palette. Along the way, there will be the opportunity for a snorkeling stop at the Salt Pier, a well-known place to get acquainted with Bonaire’s colorful underwater world.

The tour continues at the historic slave huts. These simple houses tell the story of the people who used to work here on the salt pans and give an important insight into the past of the island. Then we drive on to the Pekelmeer, a protected area where flamingos can often be seen.

Next, we visit Sorobon, located at Lac Bay. Here is time to relax on the beach, enjoy the views and watch the windsurfers glide over the water. The tour ends at Lac Cai, on the other side of the bay. In this special place you can see the characteristic mountains of seashells and taste the peaceful atmosphere of the area.
