Sloth spotting in Paramaribo (Suriname)

At 4:15 pm you will be expected at the culture garden. Here you will meet the guide and from there the tour will start. Together with the guide you will look for the sloths.

Two different species of sloths occur in the culture garden. 2-fingered and 3-fingered sloths. The sloths are high up in the trees, hidden behind the leaves. This makes them difficult to spot, but the guide knows exactly where to look. He will also tell you all the facts about the sloths and the environment they live in, so you too will know the best way to spot the creatures. At the end, you will go home with a lot of new knowledge about the sloths. And hopefully you will also have had a good look at them.

Location: Paramaribo Zoo entrance.

Handy take-home list

Closed shoes: To protect your feet from insects and irritating plants.

Long pants: To protect your legs from insects and irritating plants.

Sunscreen: To protect your skin from the sun.

Mosquito Milk: To protect you from insect bites.

Photo camera: So you can capture the sloths.

Binoculars: Sloths are often high in the trees, if you would like to get a better look at them, binoculars can be useful.

Storm/bad weather:

The tour company reserves the right at any time before the time of departure, to cancel the trip/ tour in case of unforeseeable weather conditions. The activity/ tour will be rescheduled on another date.
