This full-day cross-border tour takes you from Paramaribo to historic Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni in French Guiana, where Surinamese and French influences collide. The journey starts with a comfortable bus ride and a crossing by dugout canoe on the Marowijne River, where the landscape slowly changes and the French atmosphere becomes tangible. In Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, explore the former bagno, an iconic penal colony that played a central role in the city’s history and now serves as a museum.
