Dolphin and Cayman spotting (Suriname)

During this adventurous river excursion you will meet two iconic inhabitants of Surinamese nature: the playful river dolphins and the impressive caimans. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will sail in a traditional tent boat through the vast river area, where nature, history and excitement come together. While sailing, you will search for Guyana dolphins, which are known for their curious and playful behavior and often come surprisingly close. Along the way you will experience the special transition between the Suriname and Commewijne rivers and you will sail past historic places that give the landscape extra character. A visit to plantation Johanna Margaretta offers a cultural moment, where you can get acquainted with local life and enjoy freshly prepared Surinamese dishes during a short walk. When night falls, the atmosphere changes and you sail into the marshland for an exciting search for the spectacled caiman. With respect for animals and nature, the boatswain shows how these special reptiles live, while the guide shares fascinating stories and facts. This tour combines nature experience, culture and adventure into an unforgettable experience in the Surinamese wilderness.
