Description
Frederiksdorp is a former 18th century coffee and cocoa plantation. Frederiksdorp’s history recalls both European and African traditions. It has a character all its own with surrounding plantations, fishing villages, sea beaches, mangrove forests, bird swamps, dolphins and long biking and hiking trails.
This former plantation with original plantation houses and a police post, is the historic building of Frederiksdorp and listed as a Commewijne monument, and converted into an attractive resort. There is a swimming pool with a beautiful pool deck, and a large river terrace. This resort also has a good restaurant and well-stocked bar.
