During this immersive experience, you’ll symbolically sail from Fort Elmina through “The Door of No Return,” before experiencing the reality of slavery through interactive components. You are “chained” and “burned,” walk past an exhibition of paintings, huts and antique objects, and Boni regularly pops up along the way.
The walk takes you through the forest and takes you to a time of brutal plantation owners, fierce resistance and forgotten heroes. The Boni Trail does not show the past from the perspective of victimhood, but from strength, fighting spirit and resistance.
