Program

At 6:45 a.m. you will leave by bus from the Suforyou office in the direction of Fredberg Mountain. It is about 3 to 4 hours drive to the base camp. Along the way you will make several stops so you can use the restroom or buy some snacks. The last 90 minutes of the trip is on a dirt, bumpy road.

Arrival at base camp
In the afternoon you will arrive at the beautiful base camp, which is located in the middle of the jungle. Here you will be treated to a delicious lunch. If you are a large group, you will hear during lunch whether you will go up the mountain first or whether you will still stay at base camp. If you go straight up the mountain, it is time to put on your jungle clothes. You can put all the necessary gear for the mountain in your backpack and you can leave the remaining gear at base camp

Hiking to the top of Fredberg
The adventure is about to begin! You will first drive by van in about half an hour to the foot of the mountain. Here the guide even tells you what the hike will look like and approximately how it will take. When everyone is ready, you start the hike. During the hike, you and the group will set the pace. You will even take occasional breaks, but if you need more breaks, this is no problem either. After about 3 to 4 hours you will reach the top of the mountain, depending on the condition of the group.

On the Fredberg
When you reach the summit, you will first arrive at the camp where you will spend the night. Here you can put down your belongings and then walk straight to the viewpoint. You will feast your eyes because everywhere you look, you will see the jungle. It’s time to explore the mountain and even upon coming off the hike. You can already hang up your hammock. When the sun sets, you can enjoy the beautiful view. When evening falls, the cooks will have a delicious meal ready for you. After dinner, you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky and the sound of howler monkeys. You will spend the night in a hammock.

Sleep in a cave
You will spend the third night sleeping in a cave located on the Fredberg carpet. Today you will explore the jungle even further and sleep completely back to basics in caves in the jungle behind Fredberg Mountain. The guide will take you through the other side of the mountain towards the rare orange rockcocks and you might spot several monkey species along the way. You will learn about various plant species and how to survive in the jungle. You will sleep in a homemade camp in your hammock in a cave.

Sunrise on the Fredberg
It is definitely worth getting out of your hammock in time for the sunrise. You can wake up peacefully while enjoying the beautiful view. The guide will also try to spot some birds of monkeys from the mountain. After this, you will be treated to a delicious full breakfast, so you will then have enough energy to hike down. Around 10:00 a.m., you will leave for another hike down the mountain. During this hike, the guide will tell you all kinds of fun facts about the flora and fauna.

Back at base camp
Around lunch you will be back at base camp. During lunch you can even recover from the hike. After this, it is time to chill out at base camp. You can take a dip in the cooling water or for example even relax in the hammock. Around 5:30 pm you will have the opportunity to join the guide for a hike through the jungle. it gets dark, the nocturnal animals come alive and the jungle will look very different. Once back from the hike, the twice is already waiting for you. The rest of the evening you can enjoy at the campfire and this night you will sleep in a bed again.

Last day at base camp
At 7 a.m. you can choose to join the guide to look for monkeys and birds on a delightful morning walk. When you return from the walk a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you, made by the cooks.
